Milagros

Milagros are charms used for requests, protection, and as a source of good luck. The word Milagro in Spanish means “miracle” or “surprise” and people in the past and present use them as symbols to wish others good luck, good health, and hope for the future.

I carved my own “milagros” out of pink linoleum, stamped them on card stock, and staged an altar-like setup for students to take as many milagros as they needed.

TOOLS USED: iPad, Procreate, linoleum, linoleum cutter, stamp ink pad, cardstock.

BACK OF CARDS

The front of each card represents a segment of your life/character that would be granted “good luck”; for example, an “El Corazon” or the heart would grant you good luck in your love life. This is depicted on the backside of the card where the word “love” is stamped over a pink heart icon.
